It may seem like all the action is happening online. However, a well-designed business card or flyer is still a powerful marketing tool. What should your business card say?
Your physical address may not be necessary. State the name of the cities or locations of your customers. Your website URL. Your Twitter username. Your Facebook page. Your email address. Phone numbers: Cell phone, Skype, land line, whichever you have deemed as your business phone. Include your slogan (keep it sweet & short) A cleaning icon so people can see at-a-glance what your business is all about.
Make your business card the standard size: 2” x 3”. Unusually shaped cards tend to get tossed because they don’t fit into the recipients card holder or stack neatly. If you want to stand out from the crowd, position your text & pictures vertically instead of the more common horizontal orientation.
How should your business card & flyer be related? They should look alike - same logo, slogan, company name and contact/connection numbers, same colors.
Next time you’re out in the real world, say, at a ballgame, a birthday party, or catching up with friends over coffee, reach into your pocket or bag and pull out half a dozen business flyers or business cards and hand them out.
