Removing Coffee Stains

Removing Coffee Stains from Carpet.

Blot coffee stains immediately, then mix together:

  •  1 tablespoon castile soap or mild detergent
  •  1 tablespoon vinegar
  •  1 quart warm water
Spread this solution onto the stained area and allow it to dry.

For older coffee stains, combine:
  •  2 tablespoons castile soap or mild detergent
  •  3 tablespoons vinegar
  •  1 quart warm water
Using a soft brush, vigorously work this mixture into the carpet.

More coffee stains removing tips:

Shaving cream is an effective treatment for old coffee stains. Let it foam on top of the stained carpet, then wipe it up with sponge or damp cloth.

After treating stains with any of the above methods, cover the spot with a few clean paper towels, then place a phone book, floor lamp or other heavy item on top of the paper towels. When the towels absorb the moisture, replace them with a few more clean ones. Repeat the process until the spot is dry.
